Interfaith and Community Leaders Standing Against Hate
Where: Temple Beth-El, 67 US Highway 206, Hillsborough, NJ 08844
When: Tuesday, April 25, 2017
Time: 7:00 - 8:30 pm
You are invited to take part in this vigil to reject bigotry and hatred and to pledge to stand up for those being marginalized in the current environment.
At a time of rising threats against Jewish Community Centers and mosques and their leaders, desecration of cemeteries and a general climate of fear and divisiveness, this vigil offers a critically important opportunity for Jews, Muslims, Christians and people of all faith traditions from across central New Jersey to come together to issue a clarion call of conscience.
State Senator Kip Bateman and Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker are leading from the civic side, and Rabbi Arnold Gluck, Rev. Todd Buurstra, Dr. Ali Chaudry, Rabbi Dan Selsberg, Father Ron Pollack are leading from the religious community side.
Many congregations and civic groups in the central Jersey communities are participating and we hope to have hundreds of people join the vigil. The vigil will include prayer, words from our civic leaders, songs for peace,
pledge to stand up for the other (http://standupfortheother.org) and an affirmation that “Hate Has No Home Here” (https://hatehasnohomehere.wordpress.com).
